Stickers, 90 x 55mm Waterproof Candle Label

Candle labels for small makers and candle brands who pour, label and sell their own candles, whether that is a few dozen a week at markets or a steady online range. This page opens on a 90 x 55mm rectangle in white synthetic with a gloss laminate. That size sits well on the front of a typical glass tumbler or jar candle, with room for your brand, the scent name and the size. The stock is waterproof, and the laminate resists the wax and fragrance oil that end up on your hands while you pour and label, so a smudge wipes off rather than soaking in. Prices for this size and stock start at $180 for 500 (90 x 55mm rectangle, white synthetic, waterproof, single sided, gloss laminate). Labels come kiss-cut on a roll, from 500 per design up to 7,000, so each one peels straight off the backing and is quick to apply by hand. Orders are dispatched 3 to 4 business days after you approve the artwork, and the full price table below shows every quantity.

About this 90 x 55mm Waterproof Candle Label spec

Measure the container before you order. Wrap a strip of paper around the glass where the label will sit, mark it, and measure the flat area between any curve at the base and the rim. A 90 x 55mm label suits most tumblers and jars around 250 to 350ml; for a large jar or a wide vessel, 100 x 50mm gives a longer, lower label. On a candle tin, a 50mm or 75mm circle fits the lid, and a smaller circle on the base can carry your warning text. Keep the label below the rim, well away from the flame, because the glass warms as the candle burns. Make the artwork 93 x 58mm, the label size plus 1.5mm bleed on every edge, and keep text at least 2mm inside the trim. Supply a single-page CMYK PDF at 300 dpi with fonts embedded or outlined. Before a large run, stick one test label on your actual container, burn a candle through, and check that it stays put.

Common uses

  • Front labels for glass tumbler and jar candles
  • Lid and base labels for candle tins
  • Scent name and batch labels for a candle range
  • Warning and burn-care labels for the base or back of the container
  • Wax melt and reed diffuser packaging
  • Market stall and gift shop stock

90 x 55mm Waterproof Candle Label FAQs

Which label stock is best for candles?

White synthetic with a gloss laminate, which this page opens on. It is waterproof, and the laminate resists wax and fragrance oil, so labels stay clean while you pour, label and pack. Paper labels are cheaper per label but mark easily when oily fingers touch them. Clear synthetic gives a no-label look on clear glass, with white ink printed behind your colours.

What size label fits a candle jar?

For most tumblers and jars around 250 to 350ml, a 90 x 55mm rectangle fits the front with space around it. Use 100 x 50mm on a wider jar, and a 50mm or 75mm circle on a tin lid. Containers vary, so measure the flat area of yours before ordering; the label should sit flat without bending over the curve at the base.

What warning should I put on my candle labels?

This is general information only, and you are responsible for what your labels say. Common candle warnings include: never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire, burn it on a heat-resistant surface, and trim the wick before each use. Check the ACCC's Product Safety Australia website for the current rules that apply to your product, and the National Measurement Institute if you state a net weight. We print the artwork you supply.

Will the labels peel off when the candle gets warm?

The labels are made to stay on a candle container in normal use, but jars, glazes and coatings differ, and the glass near the top warms as the candle burns. Keep the label below the rim and away from the flame, and test one label on your container through a full burn before ordering a large run.

How many candle labels should I order?

The minimum is 500 labels per design, and the price per label drops as the quantity goes up. A maker selling about 40 candles a week uses around 1,000 labels of each design every six months, so 1,000 is a common order. Each scent with its own design counts as a separate design.

What happens if there is a problem with my labels?

If we make a print error, or the labels do not match your approved proof, report it within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will reprint or refund. The choice of size and stock is yours, so measure your container and test a label before a big order.
