Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about ordering print online in Australia: free artwork check, instant online proof, payment, delivery and GST. Contact us if your question is not covered.
Ordering
Is there a minimum order or minimum spend?
No minimum spend. Each product has a minimum quantity per design: 1 for corflute signs, A-frame, foamboard and PVC signs, PVC banners and pull-up banners; 10 for posters; 25 for flyers (150gsm gloss or 170gsm silk matt) and A6 or DL postcards (A5 postcards from 250); 25 for business cards on 350gsm double sided with no laminate (100 on many other cards, and 250 on cards laminated on both sides on 350gsm); 250 for letterheads, compliment slips, brochures and presentation folders; 500 for stickers and magnetic fridge calendars. You can order a single sign or banner.
Can I order online?
Yes. Choose a product, configure your specifications, upload your artwork, and pay via Stripe. The configurator shows the price and dispatch estimate before checkout.
Can I split my order across different designs?
Yes, but prices and minimum quantities are per design. A design is one artwork; a double-sided item is still one design, while different names or artwork are separate designs. Each design is printed as its own run and priced for its own quantity, so quantities are not combined across designs. For example, 200 business cards for 2 staff members is 2 designs, and 350gsm double-sided business cards with no laminate start at 25 per design, so that order would be 2 x 100 (many other cards start at 100, and cards laminated on both sides on 350gsm at 250 per design). If you need many small runs, request a quote and we will price it for you.
Do you offer custom sizes or quantities?
Online, each product has set sizes and quantity tiers. If you need something different, use the quote form or email info@downunderprint.com with details, and we will tell you whether we can supply it.
What products do you print?
We handle business cards, flyers, postcards, letterheads, compliment slips, folded brochures, presentation folders, stickers and labels, magnetic fridge calendars, posters, corflute signs, A-frame signs, foamboard and PVC signs, PVC banners, and pull-up banners.
Proofs
How does proofing work?
Every order includes a free artwork check and instant online proof (manual proof $15). Upload your artwork in your cart, before you pay, or from your order page after payment. Our automatic check runs straight away and tells you in plain English whether the file looks good, has warnings or needs fixing. Your artwork is then shown on screen with the bleed, the trim line and a 5mm safe area marked, so you can swipe through the front and back and zoom in. If it looks right, tick "I've checked my proof. Print it exactly as shown." and approve it. A clean file that you approve goes straight to print. Colours on screen can look slightly different from print, and the guide lines are not printed.
What if my file fails the automatic check?
A file with a problem that would affect the print, such as the wrong size, cannot be self-approved. You can upload a fixed file, add the artwork fix ($25 per design), or choose a manual proof.
What is the manual proof?
For $15 per design, a person checks your file and sends you a proof to approve before anything prints. You can add it in your cart. Nothing prints until you approve our proof.
Am I responsible for what is in my approved proof?
Yes. When you approve your proof, your artwork prints exactly as shown, so please check spelling, names, phone numbers, email and web addresses, images and layout. See our terms and refund policy.
What happens if I spot an error after approving?
Email us as soon as you can with your order number. If production has not started we will do our best to help, but once printing has begun we cannot change the order.
How long does a manual proof take?
Usually within one business day, depending on order volume.
Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards through Stripe, plus Apple Pay, Klarna and Zip where available. Your card details go straight to Stripe and we do not store them.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Card payments are processed by Stripe over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We never see or store your card number.
Do you accept purchase orders?
For bulk orders or ongoing accounts, contact info@downunderprint.com to discuss payment terms.
Delivery
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is free on print products (business cards, flyers, postcards, letterheads, compliment slips, brochures, presentation folders, stickers and magnetic fridge calendars) anywhere in Australia. Posters, corflute signs, A-frame signs, foamboard and PVC signs, PVC banners and pull-up banners are priced by size, quantity and delivery postcode, from $17. For example, a single small corflute sign is from $17 to Melbourne up to $34 to remote areas. The exact cost is shown in your cart once you enter a postcode, and at checkout before you pay. Nothing is added after payment.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched 2 to 7 business days after your artwork is approved, either by your own approval of the instant online proof or by approving the manual proof we send (4 for cards, flyers and other print products, 7 for magnetic fridge calendars, 3 for posters, A-frame and foamboard signs, and 2 to 3 for corflute signs, PVC banners, pull-up banners and PVC signs). After dispatch, delivery typically takes 1 to 8 business days depending on your postcode, for example 1 to 3 to Victoria, 1 to 4 to New South Wales, 2 to 4 to Queensland and 3 to 6 to Western Australia. These are estimates; the "Get it by" range on each product page is calculated for your postcode.
Can you deliver to remote areas?
Yes, we deliver to every Australian address. Remote and regional areas can take longer than the estimates above, and wide format delivery costs more there because courier rates are higher. The cost is shown in your cart once you enter your postcode.
Can I pick up my order?
No. We deliver by courier Australia-wide and do not have a pickup counter.
What if my parcel arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the parcel and the goods. We lodge a claim with the courier and pass on the outcome.
Artwork & Files
What file format do you accept?
PDF is best. You can also upload AI, EPS, JPG, PNG, TIFF or ZIP files up to 200 MB. Check our artwork guidelines before uploading.
What if I don't have design software?
You can use free tools like Canva or ask a designer to prepare your files. Contact us for recommendations if needed.
Do you provide design services?
Yes, as optional extras in your cart, per design: a simple edit of your existing artwork ($60) or a new design from your brief ($150). Most customers supply their own print-ready artwork, which costs nothing extra.
Pricing & GST
Are prices shown including GST?
The price shown is the total you pay, plus delivery where shown (wide format items only). We are not registered for GST, so no GST is charged and nothing is added at checkout. See why no GST is charged.
Do you offer discounts on bulk orders?
Yes. Larger quantities often have better per-unit pricing. The configurator shows the price for your quantity. For very large runs, contact info@downunderprint.com for a quote.
Guarantee
What if something goes wrong with my print?
If we make a print error, such as a fault in the printing or a result that does not match your approved proof, report it within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos and we will reprint or refund. If a parcel is damaged in transit, we lodge a claim with the courier and pass on the outcome.
