Posters for Canberra businesses

Canberra posters tend to go up indoors: on university noticeboards, in community halls, in office foyers and conference venues, and in shop windows in Braddon, Manuka and the town centres. Choose any of seven sizes from A4 to A0, including B2 and B1. A single poster can be printed on 200gsm satin, or on 200gsm synthetic that shrugs off water and tears; 200gsm matt starts at 10 copies; and for larger runs in A3, A2 and A1 there are offset gloss, matt and artboard papers, printable on one side or both. Prices start at $84 for 1 (A4 210 x 297mm, 200gsm synthetic, single sided).

The price shown is the total you pay: we are not registered for GST, so none is added. Posters are dispatched 2 to 4 business days after approval, and delivery to Canberra is estimated at 2–4 business days after that. They come by courier to Civic, Dickson, Belconnen, Woden, Fyshwick and the rest of the territory, with no pickup option; Queanbeyan addresses carry NSW postcodes and may see a different estimate, and outlying rural addresses can take longer. Canberra's dry air is kind to paper indoors, but winter frost, dew and wind make paper a poor choice outside, so use synthetic posters or a PVC banner for anything exposed. Our poster sizes guide helps match size to wall or window.

Who orders Posters in Canberra

Associations and peak bodies print posters for conferences, AGMs and member events. University clubs and research groups at ANU and the University of Canberra use them for talks and recruitment. Community groups and arts organisations promote performances and exhibitions, cafes and retailers in the group centres announce specials, and agencies print awareness posters for staff areas and public counters.

Canberra events & seasonal calendar

  • University orientation (February and July): clubs and campus services cover noticeboards
  • Floriade (spring): exhibitors, food vendors and nearby venues promote around the event; check the organiser's current dates
  • Conference season (autumn and spring): associations print programme and wayfinding posters
  • Federal and ACT election cycles: candidates print campaign posters, which must carry an authorisation statement
  • Christmas trading: retailers put sale posters in windows
Note:

Local signage rules

In the ACT, public land and infrastructure are managed by the ACT Government rather than a city council, and posters on poles, bus shelters and street furniture are restricted, with removal and penalties possible. Use community noticeboards, your own windows or venues that agree. Election posters must include an authorisation statement under electoral law, and the electoral authority sets further conditions during campaign periods, so read the current rules before printing.

Canberra FAQs

How soon will posters arrive in Canberra?

Allow 2 to 4 business days to dispatch after you approve the artwork, then delivery to Canberra is estimated at 2–4 business days. The delivery price and estimate are shown in your basket before you pay.

Which size suits a university noticeboard?

A3 is the usual size for crowded campus boards, and A4 works where space is tight. A2 or A1 suits a foyer stand or a window that people walk past.

Can I put posters on poles around Canberra?

Generally no. Posters on public infrastructure are restricted by the ACT Government and can be removed. Use community noticeboards, shop windows with permission or venue walls.

Do election posters need anything special?

Yes. Electoral law requires an authorisation statement on campaign material, including posters. We print your artwork as supplied and do not check it for compliance, so confirm the wording before you approve the proof.

Will paper posters survive outdoors in winter?

Not for long. Frost, dew and rain soften paper quickly. 200gsm synthetic posters are waterproof and tear resistant, and a PVC banner suits longer outdoor display.

Can I print just one poster for a conference stand?

Yes. Satin and synthetic posters start at a single copy in every size from A4 to A0. A satin poster can also take a gloss or matt laminate on the front.
