Mesh Banners for Sydney businesses
A mesh banner is the banner for places where wind will tear or blow down a solid one: building-site fences, scaffolding, sporting grounds and open frontages. The perforated PVC mesh lets wind pass through, so there is far less load on the fence and the fixings. We print three sizes, 1800 x 600mm, 1800 x 900mm and 3000 x 1000mm, in 12 x 12 premium, 9 x 9 standard and 6 x 6 open mesh. Standard 9 x 9 mesh starts at $276 for 1 (1800 x 900mm, mesh 9 x 9 standard), and a 3000 x 1000mm banner in the same mesh starts at $353 for 1 (3000 x 1000mm, mesh 9 x 9 standard, eyelets on all sides, 500mm apart). Not every size comes in every mesh, and the price panel shows what is offered for the size you choose.
Sydney's harbour and coastal winds, and the many building sites on tight streets, are the reasons to choose mesh over solid PVC. Fix the banner at every eyelet and choose closer spacing (300mm, 500mm or 1000mm) on an exposed fence. The image reads clearly from the front, but you can see through the perforations from behind, so mesh is not for blocking a view. For a sharper, opaque image on a protected wall, compare PVC banners. Our pull-up versus PVC banner guide explains the difference between display and fence banners.
Who orders Mesh Banners in Sydney
Construction and renovation firms hang mesh on site fences and scaffolding. Developers promote new apartments on hoardings, and sports clubs and grounds sell sponsor space on perimeter fences. Event organisers and venues use mesh at festival fencing and entrances.
Sydney events & seasonal calendar
- Royal Easter Show (around Easter, Sydney Olympic Park): sponsors and exhibitors order large-format signage
- Vivid Sydney (late May into June): venues and brands order banners for event fronts
- Spring and summer building season: new sites hang fresh fence banners
- Winter and summer sport seasons: club grounds refresh sponsor fencing
Local signage rules
Banners on footpaths, public land or street fixtures need council approval, and scaffolding and building-site banners can have conditions from the council or the principal contractor. Check with the council and the site manager before installing.
Sydney FAQs
Why choose mesh over a solid PVC banner for a Sydney site?
Wind passes through mesh, so it puts far less strain on the fixings and the fence. Choose mesh for exposed sites and solid PVC where you need a sharper, opaque image.
What is the difference between the mesh grades?
12 x 12 premium has the finest weave and the sharpest print. 9 x 9 standard is a good all-rounder. 6 x 6 open lets the most wind through, with a coarser image.
How are mesh banners fixed?
With cable ties or rope through the eyelets, spaced at 300mm, 500mm or 1000mm on all four sides. Closer spacing holds the banner flatter in wind.
Do I still need to take it down in a storm?
Yes. Mesh is made for wind, but a severe storm can still tear fixings and the fence. Tie off at every eyelet and remove the banner when severe weather is forecast.
How much are mesh banners in Sydney, and is GST added?
Standard 9 x 9 mesh starts at $276 for 1 (1800 x 900mm, mesh 9 x 9 standard), and a 3000 x 1000mm banner in the same mesh starts at $353 for 1 (3000 x 1000mm, mesh 9 x 9 standard, eyelets on all sides, 500mm apart). The price shown is the total you pay: we are not registered for GST, so none is added. The price panel shows the live price for each size, mesh and finish.
How long do mesh banners take to reach Sydney?
Dispatch is 4 to 10 business days after your artwork is approved, then delivery to Sydney is estimated in the delivery box on this page. Mesh banners are priced for delivery by size, quantity and postcode, and the delivery price is shown in your basket once you enter your postcode, before you pay.
