In short
Aluminium composite material: two thin aluminium skins bonded to a plastic core, giving a flat, rigid, weatherproof board used for permanent signs.
What it is
ACM, also called aluminium composite panel or by brand names such as Dibond, is a sandwich of two thin aluminium sheets with a plastic core. It stays flat, resists weather and has a smooth face that prints well.
Where it is used
Permanent outdoor signs on walls, fences and posts, building and business signs, and directional signs that need to last. It also works indoors where you want a rigid, premium panel.
How it compares
Corflute is lighter and costs less, and suits temporary signs. Foam PVC is a good indoor and sheltered board. ACM is heavier and stiffer, and is the pick for a sign that stays up for years.
Availability
We print 3mm ACM from 300 x 450mm up to 1200 x 2400mm, with or without a gloss laminate. See our ACM signs and the guide to ACM, corflute and PVC signs.
