Feather Flags for Brisbane businesses
Brisbane's weekends are built around open homes, markets, fun runs and sporting days, and a feather flag is the quickest way to tell people where to turn in from the street. Ours come in three heights, small (2400mm), medium (3450mm) and large (4700mm), on lightweight or silverback fabric, printed on one side or both. Prices start at $172 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided, flag, pole, spike and bag), and a medium flag with the same fittings starts at $210 for 1 (3.45m Medium, lightweight fabric, single sided, flag, pole, spike and bag). If you already own a pole, the flag on its own starts at $133 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided).
Plan for the weather. Late spring and summer bring afternoon storms and strong sun, so choose the smaller height on an exposed corner, fix the pole firmly and take the flag down when a storm is forecast. Colours fade over months of direct sun, which matters for a flag that stays out all summer. The spike pushes into soft ground such as a lawn or nature strip; on a driveway, pavers or concrete it will not hold, and we do not sell a cross base or water bag, so check the site first. For open homes, our open home checklist lists the signs and costs to plan, and corflute signs cover the for-sale board. If the flag will stand with others, compare teardrop flags and rectangle flags.
Who orders Feather Flags in Brisbane
Real estate agencies mark open homes and auctions on Saturdays. Cafes, gyms and shops on the main suburban strips fly a flag outside the door. Market organisers and stallholders mark entrances and pitches. Sporting clubs, schools and fun-run organisers use flags at start lines and sign-in tables, and car yards and trade suppliers use tall flags to be seen from the road.
Brisbane events & seasonal calendar
- Ekka (August): exhibitors and partners mark stands and entrances
- Brisbane Festival (September): venues and pop-up bars flag their entrances
- Spring selling season: agencies mark open homes most weekends
- Storm season (roughly November to March): flags come down in severe weather, so order spares for events
Local signage rules
Councils, including Brisbane City Council, regulate advertising devices on footpaths and public land, and the rules differ by street and by use. A flag on private property is usually simpler than one on a nature strip or footpath. Check with the council, and with the event or centre manager if you are at a venue, before you put flags out.
Brisbane FAQs
Which height suits a Brisbane open home?
The small (2400mm) flag is easy to carry in a car and usually enough to be seen from the street. The medium (3450mm) is better when the house sits back from a busy road. Large (4700mm) flags suit car yards, showgrounds and event entrances.
Can I use a feather flag in a Brisbane storm?
Take it down. Feather flags are made to bend in wind, but a storm can pull the spike out, snap a pole or send the flag into a car or a person. Put them out for the open home, not overnight.
Will the spike work on a driveway or pavers?
No. The spike needs soft ground. On concrete or pavers you need a cross base or water bag, which are not part of our range, so for hard surfaces check the site before you order.
Lightweight or silverback fabric for a Brisbane summer?
Lightweight is the lower-priced option and suits double-sided flags. Silverback has a blocking layer so the design does not show through, which looks better on a single-sided flag that is seen from one side only.
How much are feather flags in Brisbane, and is GST added?
Prices start at $172 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided, flag, pole, spike and bag), or $133 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided) if you already have a pole. The price shown is the total you pay: we are not registered for GST, so none is added. Medium and large flags, silverback fabric and two-sided printing cost more, and the price panel shows each live price.
How long do feather flags take to reach Brisbane?
Dispatch is 3 business days after your artwork is approved, then delivery to Brisbane is estimated in the delivery box on this page. Flags are priced for delivery by size, quantity and postcode, and the delivery price is shown in your basket once you enter your postcode, before you pay.
