Feather Flags for Sydney businesses
In Sydney a flag has to stand out from a lot of competing signs: dense shopping strips, busy auction streets and crowded event grounds. Our feather flags come in three heights, small (2400mm), medium (3450mm) and large (4700mm), on lightweight or silverback fabric, one side or both. The small flag with pole, spike and carry bag starts at $172 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided, flag, pole, spike and bag), the medium at $210 for 1 (3.45m Medium, lightweight fabric, single sided, flag, pole, spike and bag), and the flag on its own, if you already have a pole, at $133 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided). Choose the colours and a short message that read from across the road: a logo, one line and a date or a word like OPEN.
Sydney sites are tight and exposed. Harbour and coastal winds can be strong, so fix the pole firmly and avoid the large flag in an open car park or on a headland. Footpaths are narrow in many suburbs, so a flag on private frontage is often easier than one on public ground. Because Sydney auctions and open homes often start on a hard driveway or paved courtyard, remember that the supplied spike needs soft ground and that we do not sell a cross base or water bag. For stalls and events, see our market stall setup checklist and compare teardrop flags and rectangle flags.
Who orders Feather Flags in Sydney
Real estate agencies mark auctions and open homes across the suburbs, often several per Saturday. Hospitality venues and retailers on busy strips use flags to pull people into a doorway. Surf clubs, schools and running events use flags at registration and finish areas, and market organisers use them to mark entrances at weekend markets.
Sydney events & seasonal calendar
- Sydney Festival (January): venues and pop-up sites mark entrances
- Royal Easter Show (around Easter, Sydney Olympic Park): exhibitors and sponsors mark stands
- Vivid Sydney (late May into June): venues and brands flag event fronts
- City2Surf (August): sponsors and charities mark their areas
- Spring selling season: agencies run open homes and auctions most weekends
Local signage rules
Councils across Sydney regulate advertising flags and signs on footpaths, roads and public land, and the rules differ between council areas. Heritage areas and some centres have extra controls. Check with your local council, and with the event or centre manager if you are at a venue, before you put flags out.
Sydney FAQs
Which flag height works on a narrow Sydney street?
Small (2400mm) or medium (3450mm). A taller flag has a longer swing in wind and needs more clear space around the pole. The large (4700mm) flag suits open grounds, car yards and event entrances.
Can I put a feather flag on the footpath outside my Sydney shop?
Often only with council approval, and the rules differ between councils. A flag on your own frontage is simpler. Ask the council before you put one on public ground.
How do I fix the flag on a hard surface?
The supplied spike pushes into soft ground only. For concrete or pavers you need a cross base or water bag, which are not part of our range, so check the site before you order.
Can I print a different design on each side?
Yes, with double-sided printing: supply a two-page PDF, front then back. A single-sided flag shows the design reversed on the back, which is fine for a word like OPEN but not for a long message.
How much are feather flags in Sydney, and is GST added?
Prices start at $172 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided, flag, pole, spike and bag), or $133 for 1 (2.4m Small, lightweight fabric, single sided) if you already have a pole. The price shown is the total you pay: we are not registered for GST, so none is added. Medium and large flags, silverback fabric and two-sided printing cost more, and the price panel shows each live price.
How long do feather flags take to reach Sydney?
Dispatch is 3 business days after your artwork is approved, then delivery to Sydney is estimated in the delivery box on this page. Flags are priced for delivery by size, quantity and postcode, and the delivery price is shown in your basket once you enter your postcode, before you pay.
