For Christmas 2026, most small businesses get the best value from a short list of printed pieces: a letterbox flyer in mid to late November, posters and window signs that go up in early December, an A-frame on the footpath, branded stickers for gift wrapping, and a thank-you postcard in every online order. To have printed items in hand by Friday 18 December, order flyers, postcards and stickers by Monday 7 December if you are in New South Wales, Queensland or the ACT, and earlier for South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. The full order-by table is below. All dates are estimates, so allow extra time in December when courier networks are at their busiest.
What should a small business print for Christmas?
Pick pieces that each do one job.
| Item | Job it does | Our product |
|---|---|---|
| Letterbox flyer | Brings local households in for a Christmas offer or late trading hours | Flyers, A5 or DL |
| Window and counter posters | Announces the offer to people already walking past or inside | Posters in A3, A2 or A1 |
| Footpath A-frame | Stops foot traffic with a gift idea, opening hours or a Boxing Day sale | A-frame signs |
| Rigid window or in-store display | Holds a feature display, price board or gift guide for the whole season | Foamboard signs (indoor) or PVC signs |
| Gift-wrap and packaging stickers | Turns plain paper bags and wrapping into branded packaging | Stickers on a roll |
| Parcel insert or thank-you card | Thanks online customers and invites them back in January | Postcards, A6 |
| Pull-up banner | Brand presence at a Christmas market, pop-up or in-store event | Pull-up banners |
Flyers and letterbox drops
A flyer works when it gives a household a reason to visit in a specific window of time: extended trading hours, a gift-with-purchase, or a Christmas Eve order cut-off for a cafe or bakery. A5 is a comfortable letterbox size with room for an offer, an image and a map, and DL suits a slimmer price list or menu. Flyers start at 25 per design on 150gsm gloss, single or double sided. Plan the drop for mid to late November or the first week of December. Our flyer distribution guide covers planning a letterbox drop.
Posters, A-frames and window displays
Posters are a low-cost way to change your shopfront for the season. A2 suits most shop windows, and A3 suits counters, noticeboards and change room doors. Posters are for indoor display behind glass.
An A-frame sign works on the footpath, where it catches people from both directions. Ours is one sheet of 3mm corflute, printed on both faces and folded into a freestanding A shape, with faces of 600 x 900mm or A1. You can put a Christmas message on one side and a Boxing Day sale on the other, then flip it on 26 December. Check your council's rules for footpath signs before you put one out.
For a display that needs to stand up for the whole season, rigid board is easier to handle than paper. Foamboard is light and stands on an easel or leans in a window, but it is indoor only. PVC signs are tougher and waterproof, so they suit a window that gets condensation or a spot under an awning. Both come in A2, A1, A0, 600 x 900mm and 900 x 1200mm, from one sign.
Stickers for gift packaging
A round sticker on a paper bag or a wrapped gift is a small cost that makes your packaging look intentional. Our stickers come kiss-cut on a roll, from 500 per design, in sizes from a 25mm circle to a 100 x 50mm rectangle. A 40mm or 50mm circle with your logo suits most bags and tissue paper seals. White gloss paper is fine for dry, indoor use. If the stickers are going on chilled products, such as Christmas hampers with cheese or drinks, choose the waterproof white synthetic stock. Our sticker material guide compares the stocks.
Because the minimum is per design, a logo or "Thank you" design you use all year is better value than a Christmas-only design.
Postcards and thank-you cards in parcels
If you sell online, a printed card in each parcel is a marketing piece the customer is almost certain to see. A6 postcards on 350gsm artboard fit in a satchel without bending. Use one side for a thank-you and your logo, and the other for a reason to come back: a January offer code, your social handle, or how to leave a review. Postcards start at 25 per design (A6 and DL; A5 from 250) and are printed on one or both sides.
Pull-up banners for markets and in-store events
If you trade at Christmas markets or run an in-store late night, a pull-up banner at 850 x 2000mm gives you a branded backdrop that packs into a carry bag. It is best indoors or under cover, with the base weighted in wind.
When should I order Christmas printing?
Order earlier than you think. The table shows the last date to place an order if you want it in hand by Friday 18 December, which leaves the final trading week clear.
These dates assume you order before our 11am Brisbane time cut-off (12 noon in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart during daylight saving), upload print-ready artwork, and approve your proof by the next business day. They use the slow end of our delivery estimate for each state.
| Delivery state | Corflute signs, pull-up banners (dispatched 2 business days after approval for smaller quantities; some larger quantities take 3, so use the next column) | Posters, A-frames, foamboard, PVC signs and PVC banners (up to 3) | Flyers, postcards, stickers, brochures, business cards (4) |

To have items a week earlier, by Friday 11 December, move every date back exactly one week. These are estimates, not guarantees. Courier networks are busier in December, and remote and regional addresses can take longer, so we recommend adding at least a few business days on top of these dates. The Get it by range on each product page is calculated for your postcode.
Christmas Day falls on Friday 25 December 2026, and the Boxing Day public holiday is observed on Monday 28 December. Neither is a business day for us, and courier networks run slowly around them. If you are running a Boxing Day sale, treat your sale posters and A-frame faces as Christmas orders and have them in hand before Christmas Eve.
A timeline working back from Christmas
Late October. Decide your Christmas offer, your trading hours and what you will print. Brief your designer or start in our templates. Check your logo files are high resolution.
First half of November. Finalise and approve artwork for anything that stays up all season: A-frames, rigid window signs, pull-up banners and packaging stickers. Getting these in early means a correction does not cost you trading days.
Mid November. Order letterbox flyers. If you want flyers in hand by Friday 27 November, for a drop that weekend or for Black Friday, order a 4-business-day product by Monday 16 November in New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT, Tuesday 17 November in Victoria, and earlier in the other states.
Late November to the first week of December. Order window posters and parcel inserts. Put up your Christmas window by the first weekend of December.
By Monday 7 December. Last practical week to order most items for most states (see the table). After this, anything you order is a gamble on courier timing.
Christmas print planning checklist
- One clear offer per piece, with the dates it runs and how to claim it
- Christmas trading hours, including Christmas Eve, the public holidays and the days between Christmas and New Year
- A QR code or short web address on flyers, postcards and posters, tested at actual size with a phone before you approve
- Artwork in CMYK with 3mm bleed (5mm for foamboard and PVC signs), fonts outlined or embedded; see the print artwork checklist
- Both sides of an A-frame designed: Christmas on one face, Boxing Day on the other, if you want to use it twice
- Order dates in your calendar for your state, with extra days added for December
- Someone available to approve proofs quickly, since a proof waiting overnight delays dispatch by a day
Christmas printing prices
These tables show live prices for the products most retailers order for Christmas. No GST is charged, so the price you see is the price you pay. Delivery is free on flyers, postcards and stickers. FAQs
When is the last day to order Christmas printing in 2026?
To have items by Friday 18 December, order flyers, postcards and stickers by Monday 7 December for New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT, Tuesday 8 December for Victoria, and between Tuesday 1 and Friday 4 December for the other states. Signs and banners can be ordered a day or two later. These are estimates, so allow extra time in December.
Do you offer express printing for last-minute Christmas orders?
Yes, on business cards, flyers, letterheads, compliment slips and presentation folders: Express is dispatched the next business day after artwork approval, for the options and quantities that show an Express price in the configurator. For anything else, contact us before you order and we will tell you what is possible.
Can I get printing delivered between Christmas and New Year?
Friday 25 December and Monday 28 December are public holidays and are not counted as business days, and courier networks run slowly over this period. Plan to have everything you need for Boxing Day and early January in hand before Christmas Eve.
What size flyer is best for a Christmas letterbox drop?
A5 (148 x 210mm) gives you room for an offer, an image and a map. DL (99 x 210mm) suits a price list, menu or trading hours. Both start at 25 per design on 150gsm gloss, single or double sided, or 250 per design on 170gsm silk matt.
Can A-frame signs have a different design on each side?
Yes. Supply a two-page PDF with one page per face. Many shops use one side for Christmas and the other for a Boxing Day or January sale.
Which stickers should I use on gift wrapping?
White gloss paper suits dry gift wrap and paper bags. Choose white synthetic if the sticker will go on chilled or damp packaging, such as hampers. A 40mm or 50mm circle suits most bags and tissue seals.
Can foamboard signs go in a shop window?
Yes, foamboard suits indoor window displays behind glass. It is not waterproof, so use PVC signs where the sign may get wet, for example under an awning.
