ACM (Aluminium Composite) Signs for Sunshine Coast businesses
Along the Sunshine Coast, permanent signs live close to the sea: on shopfronts in Mooloolaba and Noosa, on clinic walls in Birtinya and Buderim, at the entry to holiday apartment buildings in Caloundra and Coolum, and on fences around the new estates going up across the coast. ACM (aluminium composite material) suits these jobs because it stays flat and rigid, shrugs off rain and humidity, and does not rot or soak up water like timber or MDF. We print 3mm ACM single sided in full colour, in nine sizes from 300 x 450mm to 900 x 1200mm, including A2, A1 and A0, and as 1200 x 1800mm and 1200 x 2400mm panels. Prices start at $137 for 1 (600 x 900mm, 3mm ACM aluminium composite, single sided) with gloss laminate and $161 for 1 (600 x 900mm, 3mm ACM aluminium composite, single sided, no finish) unlaminated; a large 1200 x 1800mm panel starts at $343 for 1 (1200 x 1800mm, 3mm ACM aluminium composite, single sided, no finish). The price shown is the total you pay: we are not registered for GST, so none is added.
Coastal salt air and strong sun shorten the life of any printed outdoor sign, so plan for it. Choose gloss laminate on the sizes that offer it (A2 up to 900 x 1200mm) for extra UV and scratch protection, keep the design clean and high contrast, and rinse salt off signs near the beach now and then. Summer storms can be fierce, so fix panels with screws and caps, standoffs or construction adhesive to a solid surface, and avoid relying on cable ties alone in an exposed spot. Clinics and studios often choose a smaller panel such as 300 x 450mm or 450 x 600mm beside the door, while builders use the 1200mm-wide panels on site fences. If the sign only has to last a few weeks, a corflute sign costs less, and our real estate sign price guide compares board options.
ACM is dispatched 2 to 7 business days after artwork approval, and delivery to the Sunshine Coast is estimated at 2–4 business days after dispatch. The panels are heavy, so delivery is priced by size, weight and postcode, and the 1200mm-wide panels move as oversize freight, which can add time. We deliver to Caloundra, Birtinya, Kawana, Maroochydore, Buderim, Nambour, Coolum, Noosaville, Cooroy and the hinterland towns; rural addresses can take longer. There is no local showroom or pickup.
Who orders ACM (Aluminium Composite) Signs in Sunshine Coast
Shops, cafes and salons use ACM for permanent fascia and entry signs. Medical, allied health and wellness clinics use smaller panels for name and directional signs. Body corporates and holiday letting managers use it for building names, parking and pool rules, and builders and developers put large panels on site fences and estate entries.
Sunshine Coast events & seasonal calendar
- Winter and spring (the drier months): a good window to install new signs and fit-outs
- Before summer storms (October and November): check and tighten fixings
- Summer storm season (roughly November to March): permanent signs need sound fixings
- End of financial year (June): businesses refresh signage
- New estate stages through the year: developers order entry and wayfinding panels
Local signage rules
Permanent signs may need approval from Sunshine Coast Council or Noosa Shire Council, depending on where the sign goes and its size and lighting, and each council has its own planning scheme. Body corporates and landlords usually need to consent to signs on a building. Check with the council and the owner before you order a permanent sign.
Sunshine Coast FAQs
Does salt air affect ACM signs?
The panel does not absorb water, warp or rot, but salt air and sun age the printed face over time, as they do any outdoor sign. Gloss laminate on the sizes that offer it adds some protection, and an occasional rinse helps near the beach.
Which size suits a clinic or studio door?
300 x 450mm or 450 x 600mm sits neatly beside a door at eye level. A2 or A1 suits a wall facing a car park or street.
Can ACM be printed on both sides?
No. ACM signs are printed on one side and the back is bare aluminium. For a two-sided temporary sign, corflute or polypropylene are the options.
How do I fix ACM to a wall or fence?
Drill the corners and use screws and caps, mount it on standoffs, or glue it to a flat surface with construction adhesive. Allow for its weight, which is more than corflute or PVC.
How much are ACM signs on the Sunshine Coast, and is GST added?
Prices start at $137 for 1 (600 x 900mm, 3mm ACM aluminium composite, single sided) with gloss laminate and $161 for 1 (600 x 900mm, 3mm ACM aluminium composite, single sided, no finish) unlaminated, so compare both for your size. The price shown is the total you pay, with nothing added on top.
How long do ACM signs take to reach the Sunshine Coast?
Dispatch is 2 to 7 business days after artwork approval, then delivery to the Sunshine Coast is estimated at 2–4 business days. Delivery is priced by size, weight and postcode, the 1200mm-wide panels go as oversize freight, and your basket shows the delivery price before you pay.
